Chris Noyes' Home Truths

Chris Noyes Home Truths.jpeg

Everyone, this is Chris. Why ask him for his Home Truths? Cos he’s one of the coolest cats I know, and just the best person to have a proper and honest conversation with.

1. The song to put a smile on your face…

What A Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong. I love a good old classic. Armstrong’s songs have such a great vibe and remind me of being a kid.

2. You can only watch one film for the next three months… What is it?

Got to be Captain Fantastic, but perhaps I’ve seen it way too many times already! The cinematography, landscapes, story and characters are so captivating and I secretly (well probably not so secretly) want to live in a forest and live off the land, so it’s a great escape / vision for me.

3. The TV series you want everyone to watch:

I am sure loads of people say Sex Education and Stranger Things… Definitely them. But the best for me personally are the Attenborough Planet Earth series.

4. The book you most recommend to people:

Well, I read pretty weird books, so I generally don’t recommend many. I am not religious, but I was completely absorbed into The Secret Life of Jeshua by Daniel Meurois. I didn’t want it to finish!

5. The subject you’ve put off exploring that’s now top of your to-do list:

I’m off to France soon (eer…hopefully), so being in lockdown has been a perfect opportunity to start learning to speak French. I've booked a load of weekly Skype 1-2-1 sessions with a teacher, which is hugely helpful to keep me motivated and to generate momentum.

However, it’s easy for me to try and do too much and be overly busy and start lots of new things, so I’ve used this time to not create more noise or activities and instead (and I know it sounds a bit cheesy, but...) I’ve been tapping more into nature. I’m lucky to be in the countryside, so I’ve been getting up most mornings for sun rise and have been making a daily effort to appreciate all the nature around me. To get more synced into it, rather than just going about my day and getting absorbed into my schedule. It’s hard to do though!

6. The wild card you wish more people knew about…

Russell Brand has really turned a corner I feel and he is doing some really interesting work especially with his podcast Under the Skin. There are some really interesting talks on there.

Radhi Devluki-Shetty and Jay Shetty are also inspiring individuals. But the absolute wild card that I find hilarious is Kaypacha on his Youtube channel ‘New Paradigm Astrology’. He is kooky and you have to take him with a pinch of salt, but he has some interesting things to say.

7. We’re allowed dinner parties again… What are you cooking?

A massive salad and veg lasagne would be up my street.

8. Everything’s back open. What’s the first coffee shop, restaurant or pub you’re visiting?

The Queen's Head pub in Hawkedon, Suffolk.

P.S. What you know now, that you wish you knew then…

I can definitely get away with wearing the same T-shirt for at least a week!!

C’est fini... Now what?
