John Hayes' Home Truths

Everyone, this is John. Why ask him for his Home Truths? Cos he’s Dad, where I’ve got my recent influx of grey hairs from, and can clearly rock a bow tie (see left).

1. The song to put a smile on your face…

Thank You For The Music - ABBA. It never fails to brighten me up.

2. You can only watch one film for the next three months… What is it?

Dr. No. The first Bond film, and I’ve always loved Dr. No’s dark secrets.

3. The TV series you want everyone to watch:

Spooks. It’s so realistic and, with 10 series of it, there’s plenty to watch.

4. The book you most recommend to people:

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. It’s a wonderful reminder of time spent in India. 

5. The subject you’ve put off exploring that’s now top of your to-do list: 

My wife.

6. The wild card you wish more people knew about… 

Not a thing, more of a concept… Don’t take things for granted. 

7. We’re allowed dinner parties again… What are you cooking?

Boiled eggs. Simple and tasty.

8. Everything’s back open. What’s the first coffee shop, restaurant or pub you’re visiting?

The Jolly Cricketers pub. The owners have become good friends and it’s a regular spot for us on weekends.
